Southbound 57 to be Closed at Edgewood Friday Morning

Southbound I-57 will be closed at the Edgewood interchange Friday morning.

Mike Fox of IDOT said a portion of the bridge deck is failing on the overpass carrying the interstate over the railroad at Edgewood.  Fox said travel will be reduced to one lane and motorists will be routed off the interstate onto Illinois 37 with the option of getting back onto the interstate at Farina.

The work is to take from 8am to noon to complete.
