The National Weather Service says we could still see some severe weather in our area tonight, although the likelihood of such weather here has lessened.
The Weather Service said during a mid-morning briefing that there is now a slight risk for severe weather in the Effingham area, while the moderate risk area in Illinois has been shifted to Mt. Vernon and south.
That being said, the possibility still exists here for one- to two-inch hail and strong straight line winds, as well as tornadoes and additional rainfall.
Our total was at 2.65 inches by 3pm Thursday. We remain under a flood watch until 7am Friday.
