St. Anthony Students Place In IHSA Solo, Ensemble Contests

St. Anthony High School students participated in the Illinois High School Solo & Ensemble Contest Saturday, March 8 at Salem High School. Their results were as follows:

Libby Brandt (sophomore):  flute solo - 2nd place rating and vocal solo - 1st place rating

Abigail Buenker (freshman):  clarinet solo - 1st place rating

Abigail Zaccari (freshman): clarinet solo and vocal solo - both 1st place ratings

Tierney Hammer (junior):  clarinet solo - 1st place rating

Alexander Curl (junior):  tenor saxophone solo - 1st place rating

Nate Schmidt (junior): piano solo - 2nd place rating

Libby Brandt and Abigail Zaccari: vocal duet - 1st place rating

Tierney Hammer and Allison Spraul (sophomore): vocal duet - 1st place rating

St. Anthony Grade School students participated in the IESA Solo & Ensemble Contest on Saturday, March 22nd at St. Anthony Grade School.  Their results were as follows:

Makenna Grubb (6th grade):  flute solo and vocal solo - both 1st place ratings

Luke Rudolphi (6th grade: alto saxophone solo - 1st place rating

Aidan Steineman (6th grade):  french horn solo - 1st place rating

Avery Rogers (6th grade): snare drum solo - 1st place rating

Emma Klitzing (6th grade): snare drum solo and vocal solo - both 1st place ratings

McKenna Steineman (8th grade): flute solo and vocal solo - both 1st place ratings

Carly Spraul (7th grade): flute solo and vocal solo - both 1st place ratings

Hannah Buenker (7th grade): clarinet solo - 1st place rating

Livi Marks (8th grade): bass clarinet solo - 1st place rating

Braeden Quandt (7th grade): alto saxophone solo - 1st place rating

Joseph Kabbes (8th grade): tenor saxophone solo - 1st place rating

AJ Zaccari (7th grade): trumpet solo - 1st place rating

Liam Hammer (7th grade):  snare drum solo - 1st place rating

Carly Spraul also received the "Best of Day Award" for her vocal solo.
