City Police Discover Meth Lab During Disturbance Call

Police discovered a 'meth lab in the city during a disturbance call early morning.

City police responded to a disturbance call at about 3:00am Sunday morning at 410 W. Franklin. While investigating the call, police discovered activity in the home consistent with drug manufacturing.

After residents gave consent for the search, police made the discovery of methamphetamine manufacturing equipment. Plastic bottles used to smoke meth were found inside the home and in the back yard.

The Illinois State Police Meth Response Team dismantled the lab and collected samples for evidence.

Arrested were Terry L. Mays (41) and Sharon D. Hobbs (40), both of Effingham, for Participation in Meth Manufacturing.

Investigators are continuing their investigation and say that additional charges may be forthcoming.
