Negotiators for the Teutopolis Education Association and the Teutopolis Board of Education are meeting tonight in an effort to avoid a strike scheduled to begin tomorrow.

Teutopolis Superintendent Bill Fritcher said the bargaining session will begin at 6pm at the Board office.  A Federal mediator will be present.

Bargaining sessions are closed to the public, but Fritcher said we'd be notified regardless of the outcome as to plans for Friday.  He said the notification would be similar to when snow days are called.

Teutopolis teachers announced at this week's school board meeting that they would go on strike Friday if a tentative contract agreement is not reached.

We'll keep you up to date.
