A Fayette County man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison on a drug manufacturing charge.

40-year-old Michael Fickes of Vandalia was sentenced on a count of aggravated participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, a Class X felony.  Fickes was also sentenced to an extended term sentence of 10 years on a Class 2 felony count of unlawful disposal of methamphetamine manufacturing waste.

Fickes was found guilty of two other charges, as well as the two on which he was sentenced, on February 26.  No sentence was imposed on the other two counts as they merge with the Class X felony.

Fayette County authorities expect Fickes to serve 75% of the 35-year sentence.
