Altamont school board members are considering enacting a revised exam policy.
The revision was discussed at the school board's Work Weekend earlier this month. The advisory group is reviewing other language in the academic section regarding minus and plus being different values, expulsion procedures and the entire extra-curricular policy.
Board members heard that the senior class trip to Washington, DC will begin Thursday, March 20 with the group returning early in the morning on Monday, March 24. Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch will be the administrative attache this year.
It was noted that due to the excessive amount of snow days this quarter, the end of the quarter has been moved back to Friday, March 21.
The Altamont board approved coach and sponsor employment for next school year, tabled registration and athletic fees until the April meeting, and approved next year's school calendar. They also set an initial barganing date with the Altamont Education Association for March 17 at 7pm.
Board members approved a maternity leave request for Jenifer Aldrich, approved long-term substitute teacher Karen Underwood, discussed administrative contracts and then tabled the matter until the April meeting, authorized Fritchtnitch to seek bids on a utilty tractor and authorized him to seek sealed bids on a lawn tractor, and renewed membership in the SEPCO group purchasing plan.
