Albert Church's trial on delivery of a controlled substance is slated for June.

The 23-year-old Church has been indicted on the count under an accountability theory.  Prosecutors allege that Church notified 29-year-old Jessica James of Effingham of someone who could supply her with heroin.  James died later, and authorities are working to determine the cause of her death.

Church was in court briefly Monday morning with his new court-appointed counsel, local attorney Bill Totten.  Church's trial is scheduled for June 2, with a pre-trial hearing on May 5.

Church, meanwhile, faces trial on unrelated charges and faces a petition to revoke his probation on an earlier count, which might affect his status in Drug Court, part of the specialty courts now offered in Effingham County.

Church is being held in Effingham County Jail under $75,000 bond.
