The Brownstown and St. Elmo school boards will meet together tonight.

The boards are meeting to discuss school district finances and what's being termed "the future direction of school districts".  The gathering will begin at 7:30pm in the St. Elmo High School Cafeteria.

There are no action items on tonight's agendas for either district.

The Brownstown and St. Elmo districts have discussed consolidation in the past and even took the question to a vote five years ago. St. Elmo voters said Yes to consolidation, but Brownstown voters said No.  A majority of voters in both districts must say Yes for a consolidation to occur.

Again, no votes at tonight's meeting, only discussion.
