St. Anthony Competes at Shelbyville Track meets

SHELBYVILLE — Effingham St. Anthony competed in boys and girls track hosted by Shelbyville Tuesday.

The Bulldogs finished second in a three-team girls meet and was second in a two-team boys meet.

In girls action, Shelbyville won with 78 points followed by St. Anthony 75 and Tuscola 10.

Aubrey Denning, Liv Hoene and Reese Hoene all picked up two victories each.

Denning won the 800 in 2:17.58 minutes and also claimed the 1600 in 5:13.68.

L. Hoene won the 100 hurdles in 17.48 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 50.54.

R. Hoene was a winner in the 200 in 27.15 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 5.25 meters.

Gracie Slifer was a winner in the 3200 in 17:38.50 minutes. Cara Hatton claimed the high jump at 1.52 meters.

In the boys meet, Shelbyville won with 94.5 points followed by St. Anthony 42.5.

Noah Flaig was a winner in the 800 in 2:11.25 minutes and Julius Ramos took second in 2:12.34.

In the 1600, Camden Bloemer won with a time of 4:58.62 minutes and Isaac Tays was second in 5:08.70.

Tays won the 3200 in 11:45.10.
