Edith Mae Mullins, age 96, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Sunday night, April 6, 2025, at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.
She was born May 29, 1928, in Bible Grove Township, the daughter of Cleeo Alva and Laura Maude (Wyatt) Mullins.
Edith had worked at Cutler-Hammer Manufacturing in Milwaukee. She enjoyed following baseball and was a fan of both the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals. She also loved traveling, reading, working on cross stitch, and solving crossword puzzles—especially those appearing in the Decatur Herald & Review.
She is survived by her nieces and nephew: Carolyn (the late Gene) Frazier, Margarett (Bill) Cosner, Alan (Tammie) Mullins, Beverly Taylor, and Rita (Gary) Cooper; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; 3 brothers: Clyde, Paul, and Loren Mullins; 2 nephews: Kent Mullins and Vaughn Mullins; and a niece: Barbara Jean Mullins.
A private committal and burial will take place at Ingraham Cemetery. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations to honor Edith are suggested to any favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
