 Newton Finished Second, Altamont Fifth, N. Clay Sixth at Olney Girls Track Invitational

OLNEY — Newton finished second while Altamont was fifth and North Clay sixth at the Olney Girls Track Invitational Thursday.

Richland County, Olney won with 166.5 points followed by Newton 125.5, Robinson 106, Paris 87, Altamont 27, North Clay 26 and Lawrenceville 15.

Newton’s 4×100 relay team won with a time of 52.16 seconds. Team members were Makayla McVicar, Morgan Schafer, Sydney Kinder and Stella Schackmann.

Karasyn Martin won the pole vault at 3.43 meters and Camryn Martin was second in 3.35.

Newton’s Schackmann claimed second in the 100 in 12.88 seconds and third in the 200 in 27.29. Kinder took second in the 400 in 1:02.25. Layna Marshall was second in the 1600 in 5:51.93 minutes and third in the 3200 in 12:31.86. Audrey Beals was second in the high jump at 1.47 meters. Kinder took second in the triple jomp at 10.45.

The Eagles’ 4×400 relay team of McVicar, C. Martin, K. Martin and Grace Schumacher finished second with a time of 4:25.01. The 4×800 relay team of Avery Geier, Schumacher, Yureith Zavala and Shay Bennett finished second in 11:39.66.

Altamont’s Justyce Higgs took second in the discus with a throw of 28.65 meters. Abigail Weishaar finished third in the 400 in 1:94.29.

North Clay’s Melia Robey claimed third in the 1600 in 5:54.96. Brooke Koelm was second in the 3200 in 12:21.48. Karasyn Gaddy was third in the shot with a throw of 8.61 meters.
