TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis was a winner over Mount Zion by an 8-1 count in high school tennis action Monday.
The Wooden Shoes claimed five of the six singles matches. Oliver Lee won at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2 while Will Lewis downed his opponent, 6-1, 6-0.
In the No. 4 singles, Paul Huber won 6-3, 6-1 while Owen Heuerman took No. 5, 6-4, 6-1. Tommy Habing captured the No. 6 win, 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles play, Lee and Thompson combined to win, 6-1, 6-3. Huber and Heuerman downed their opponents, 6-0, 6-1. Lewis and T. Habing won, 6-2, 6-1.
Teutopolis competed at the Alton Invitational during the weekend.
The Shoes fell to LaSalle-Peru 3-2 and lost to Aurora Illinois Math and Science Academy, also 3-2.
Habing and Thompson combined to win the No. 1 doubles against LaSalle-Peru, 7-5, 6-3. Heuerman and Schmidt downed their opponents, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2.
Against Aurora Illinois Math and Science, C. Habing won at the No. 1 singles spot, 6-0, 6-4 and Will Lewis downed his opponent at No. 2, 6-2, 6-1.

The Hearts scored one point as Cole Jones claimed the No. 6 singles match. He went 6-2, then fell in the second set 6-4 but came back to win the match 10-5.
