STRASBURG — Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg broke a 2-2 second inning tie with four runs in the fourth and finished with a 7-2 win over Charleston in high school softball Wednesday.

The Hatchets ended the contest with 11 hits that included a single and double from Clarissa Johnson and Zaida Wascher each. Johnson finished with two RBI and Wascher added one RBI. Mya Friese had three singles and Cameron Carey and Claire VonBehrens added a single and an RBI each. Samantha Hayes had an RBI.

Kendra Hayes picked up the victory on the mound. She went five innings, allowing two runs on two hits, two walks while striking out four. Mya Friese finished out the last two innings, giving up three hits, one walk and striking out one.

The Hatchets are back in action today at Effingham St. Anthony.

At Strasburg

At Ramsey

South Central’s Lauren Johnson and Kinlee Thompson combined to throw a one-hitter as South Central blanked Ramsey 11-0 in five innings Wednesday.

The Cougars’ Johnson went the first four innings for the victory, allowing one hit and striking out six. Thompson came on to toss the final inning, allowing no hits and striking out two.

Meanwhile, South  Central had eight hits led by Bri Buchanan  with a single, double, home run and five RBI. Johnson added a single and an RBI.

The Cougars are now 11-7 on the season.

Ramsey’s lone hit was a single by Grace Eller.

At St. Elmo

Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran came calling and claimed an 11-1 victory over St. Elmo/Brownstown Wednesday.

CORL took a 6-1 lead in the second inning then tacked on single runs in the third and sixth and three in the seventh.

The winners had seven hits and were aided by eight SEB errors.

Alayna French led the way with a single, home run and three RBI while Jo Meyer added a double and two RBI. Peyton Jett had a double and Kylie Nalewajka had a single and drove in two runs. Elizabeth Britt finished with a single and an RBI.

St. Elmo/Brownstown had two hits, singles by Dayana Haslett and Madi Miller.

At Mulberry Grove

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Mulberry Grove were tied at 1-1 in the first inning. But Mulberry Grove scored two in the third, five in the fourth and three in the fifth to end the game via the 10-run rule, 11-1 Wednesday.

The Aces had 11 hits led by Taylor Stone with a single, two doubles and three RBI, Callye Earnest with a single, home run and three RBI, Jenni Mezo with a single and double and Lily Johnson with a double and two RBI. Kamryn Jolliff added two singles and an RBI.

The Bobcats had five hits led by Birgen Schlanser with two singles and Ryleigh Sarver with a single and an RBI.

At Mulberry Grove
