 EHS’ Kaiden Stewart Advances To State Wrestling Tournament

Effingham High School’s Kaiden Stewart finished fourth at 120 pounds to advance to the State Wrestling Tournament this coming weekend.

Stewart defeated Brawnsen Bloodworth of Carterville with a 12-8 decision. He won over Rylan Moore of Salem with a pin in :56.

Stewart fell to Preston Waughtel of Vandalia by a 19-0 decision. He then won over Kaiden Richards of Murphysboro with a pin in 1:15. Stewart lost to Vincent Moore of Litchfield, 19-3 to finish fourth.

The Hearts’ Cole Dulumback competed at 113 pounds and lost to Paxton Pyatt of Murphysboro 16-0 and fell to Brennan Jeralds of Herrin with a pin in 3:15.

Gage Emmerich also competed for the Hearts in the 165 pound category. He fell to Artan Mustafa of Vandalia with a pin in 2:34 and lost to Trevor Fath of Pinckneyville with a pin in 3:47.

The first through fourth place finishers at sectional head to State. Stewart advances to the State Tournament Thursday through Saturday at the State Farm Center in Champaign.
