Shirley A. Lindemann, age 87, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 6:12 AM – Monday, April 21, 2025, at Helia Healthcare of Newton.
Funeral services celebrating Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 AM – Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating. The burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM – Friday, at the funeral home. Shirley was born on July 17, 1937, in Mount Auburn, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Lottie (Adams) Bloxam. She graduated from Mount Auburn High School with the Class of 1955. Shirley married Charles Lindemann on June 21, 1955, and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2004. Shirley retired from Marathon Service Station in 2008, where she was a familiar face to the community. She enjoyed planting flowers, trips to the casino, and traveling, which included three trips to Maui, Hawaii, along with other states. Shirley’s time spent with her children and grandchildren is what she treasured the most.
Shirley is survived by: Children – Charles (Noelle) Lindemann of Wilmington, Illinois; Leroy Lindemann, Thomas Lindemann, Gary (Nancy) Lindemann, Larry Lindemann, Tyler Lindemann, Sandy Burns, Linda Niles, Sue (Alan) Beard, and Connie (George) McKinley all of Newton, Illinois; Debbie (Cliff) Evans of Ponte Vedra, Florida and Carol Inboden of Oblong, Illinois; Daughter-in-law – Beth Lindemann of Newton, Illinois; 28 Grandchildren 27 Great Grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Tim Lindemann, 5 sisters and 5 brothers.
