Kathy A. Hahn, 69, of Altamont, died at 7:53 a.m. Sunday, April 6, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Robert Schuppert officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be held three hours prior to service time, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Cancer Center or Whoo Hoo Sisterhood.
Kathy Shamhart was born on Thursday, September 1, 1955 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham to Perry and Gerlene (Lewis) Shamhart. She married Pat W. Hahn on March 18, 1989. She graduated in 1973 at Effingham High School. Kathy worked at Lukenbach’s, On the Rox, Blue Mound and Whistlestop. She enjoyed being with her family and spending time with her grandkids, Carley, Hunter and Chloe. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and mushroom hunting.
In addition to her husband of over 36 years, Pat Hahn, she is survived by; her two children, Vicki (fiancé Robert Schuppert) Grobengieser, St. Elmo and Brian Lewis, St. Elmo; sister, Shirley (Ronnie) Allen, Mason; grandchildren, Carley, Hunter and Chloe; sisters-in-law, Wilma Shamhart, Jaunita Shamhart, Delourse Shamhart, and Sharon Shamhart.
She was preceded in death by; her parents; siblings, Merl Shamhart, Berl Shamhart, Buddy Shamhart, Clyde (Evelynn) Shamhart, and Vicki May (died at 2 years old) and Danny Shamhart.
