Born on August 14, 1937, in Toledo, Illinois, George grew up the only son of George and Edna (McClain) Easton and little brother to Mary (Watson). He and his family lived most of their lives in Casey. He graduated from Casey High School in 1955. On September 28, 1958, George married the love of his life, Janice Cummins. The two shared a wonderful life together for 66 years. They have five children, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. George loved playing softball. He was on the original 1963 Casey Truckers team. He played for 10 years as first and second baseman. He was inducted into the USA Softball Hall of Fame in Casey, Illinois. In the early 70’s, George and Janice purchased a small farm in Hidalgo where he and a friend built the house which they would live in to this day. The farm was a lot of work in addition to a full-time job, but George loved working the land and raising various farm animals. Living a life that was pleasing to God was the most important aspect of George’s life. He came to know the Lord as his Savior in his early twenties. He believed that the only way to heaven was by repenting of his sin and accepting Christ as his Savior. We are comforted knowing that George is now home in heaven with his Savior and that we will see him again one day.
George is survived by his wife, Janice (Cummins), daughters Jenny (David) Mora, Andrea (Brian) Eliasson, and Jessica (Tracy) Edwards, as well as his grandchildren, Wesley, Kaitlyn, Jeremiah, Keaton, Shea, Matthew, Aaron, Andrew, Allen, Annette, Josiah, Seth, Jessica Rose and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory, and daughter, Amy Summers.
