Edwin L. “Ed”  Titus, 94, of Greenup, Illinois passed away at 1:30 pm on Saturday January 11, 2025, at the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm noon on Friday January 17, 2025, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery with Military Rites by the Cumberland County Veterans.

Ed was born on January 24, 1930, in Tuscola, Illinois, to Lewis and Hollis (Tate) Titus. He married Verna Winn on September 18, 1955, in Casey, Illinois. Eddie always attracted a crowd with his warm demeanor, good looks, laugh and fun-loving ways. He enjoyed himself from the day he was born until the day he left this world.

He is survived by his loving wife Verna, brother Carol “Bud” Titus; his only child, Robin (Dan) Carr, who cherished him as a daddy’s girl; his grandchildren Jacob (Soua) and Taylor (Christopher), and his two great grandsons River and Ashley. He loved his nieces and nephews, Steven Titus, Susan Cook, Sara Caggiano, Pam Rodina, and Donnie Winn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank L. Titus.

He enjoyed all the great people he met in the Army, U.S.I, Eli Lilly, and C.I.P.S. He lived in Greenup his whole life by choice and proudly played basketball for the best coach in the world, Bill Waldrip. For over 60 years he practiced his electrician skills and helped many people. He proudly was a volunteer fireman, a Village of Greenup Board Member, and was gratified by his role on the ERBA Board. No matter what he did, he found a way to make work feel like fun. He will be missed by all.
