A Murphysboro man has been sentenced to three years in prison for an Effingham County offense.
26-year-old Trevor M. Evans has pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Evans was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office in February. Deputies answered a call for service to the Fairview Inn in Montrose just after midnight on February 13. While at the call, deputies developed information that guns and ammunition were present in the motel room.
Evans will serve three months’ mandatory supervised release once out of prison.
