 Effingham Man Among Six Individuals Arrested in Anti-Human Trafficking Operation

Six individuals, including an Effingham resident, were arrested during a two-day anti-human trafficking demand suppression operation in the Troy area on April 23-24. The operation was conducted by the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Trafficking Enforcement Bureau. The focus was on identifying individuals seeking to engage in sex acts with minors.

Among the six people arrested was 40-year-old James A. Walker of Effingham. The others arrested are from the Metro East area. All suspects were charged with indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a minor, solicitation to meet a child, and grooming.
