Interstate 57 Southbound re-opened at the Edgewood interchange following crashes early Friday morning. One person was killed.
Fayette County Coroner David Harris said a semi overturned on the southbound lanes. A semi in the passing lane was among the vehicles stopped at the crash scene and a car ran up under that stopped semi. The car’s occupant, 32 year old Cody J. Becker of Lakeland, Tennessee, was in the crash. The incident occurred about 1:30am, with Becker being pronounced deceased at 2:45am.
Southbound traffic had been routed off the interstate at Edgewood and allowed back on at Farina, but the lanes were re-opened as of 9:15am.
