Mason resident Nathan Williams has been arrested on counts of burglary and criminal damage to property for a break-in at an Edgewood business.

The 49-year-old Williams was arrested Tuesday morning for a burglary of the Fas Mart, the former Beerport, in Edgewood.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene and found the front door shattered. A K9 searched the building and the sheriff’s office drone searched the area for evidence. Williams was located near Legion Lake in Edgewood about two hours later.

The sheriff’s office indicated that additional charges could be forthcoming.

Williams’ preliminary hearing is set for March 3.
