A Terre Haute, Indiana resident was arrested in Effingham County over the weekend on a methamphetamine trafficking charge.

Effingham County sheriff’s deputy arrested 38-year-old Leslie A. Howard on the meth trafficking charge, as well as counts of delivery of 15 to 100 grams of meth, possession of the meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two traffic charges.

The arrest was made just after 10pm Saturday after the deputy stopped Howard’s vehicle for the traffic offenses. A K9 alerted on the vehicle, and officers then found what was termed a “substantial amount of meth” inside the vehicle.

Howard was due to make her initial court appearance today.
