Teutopolis High School traveled to Waterloo and faced Waterloo Gibault Catholic and Freeburg, claiming both baseball victories Saturday.
In the first contest, the Wooden Shoes beat Waterloo Gibault, 8-6 behind a 13-hit attack.
T-town trailed 5-3 after two innings then scored single runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh and two in the fifth.
Dawson Hoene finished with four hits and scored three runs. Hoene had three singles and a double. Davin Worman had two singles and an RBI while Austin Borries added a double and an RBI. Aidan Niemerg finished with two singles while Carter Hoene had a single and an RBI. Bryce Niebrugge added an RBI.
Michael Niebrugge went 4.2 innings giving up five runs on four hits, four walks and striking out three for the mound victory.
In the second contest, Teutopolis ran out to a 4-0 first inning lead and never looked back in a 13-0 victory in five innings.
Borries had his hitting shoes on with two singles, a double and four RBI. M. Niebrugge added a single, double and three RBI. Jason Kreke had a double and two RBI while Henry Thompson had three singles and Niemerg two singles. Gavin Addis and Hoene had a single and an RBI each. Worman added two RBI.
Borries went the five innings on the mound, allowing no runs on five hits, no walks and striking out five.
Coach Justin Fleener’s crew is now 17-2 on the spring. The Wooden Shoes are back in action today at Kinmundy against South Central.

At Effingham
Effingham claimed a 9-7 victory over Mount Carmel Saturday.
The Hearts built a seven-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off the Golden Aces’ charge for the win.
EHS held a 5-0 lead in the second after Max Flack hit a solo home run. Wyatt Hayes singled, scoring a run and Carter Braddy doubled scoring three runs. EHS then extended that lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Braden Tucker and Brody Boehm.
Flack earned the win. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and four runs, two of those earned, over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out eight and walked six.
EHS collected 10 hits in the game. Brady finished with two doubles and two RBI, Flack a home run and an RBI, Tucker three singles and two RBI and Boehm and Hayes a single and an RBI each. Andrew Wagoner had two singles and Jude Traub added an RBI.
Flack went 5.2 innings, giving up four runs on one hit, six walks while striking out eight.
Effingham travels to South Central for its next game Wednesday.

Dieterich put together some big late innings and handed Robinson an 11-6 loss Saturday.
The Maroons held a 4-2 lead through four innings then had a four-run fifth and a three-run sixth.
Gavin Meinhart led the Maroons with three singles and two RBI while Jaxon Funneman had two singles and a double. Jackson Icenogle hit a home run and finished with three RBI.
Justin Boerngen had a single and two RBI, Landen Keck a double and an RBI and Dom Ashley two RBI.
Meinhart went 4.2 innings, allowing six runs on six hits, five walks and striking out four. Ashley came on to finish out the 2.1 innings allowing no runs, two hits and striking out two.
