Marvin Lee Oakley, Sr, age 83, of Toledo, Illinois, passed away at 4:14 PM – Monday, April 21, 2025, at his home.

Marvin was born on March 28, 1942, in Toledo, Illinois, the son of Robert and Mamie (Kingery) Oakley. He worked for Conrail Railroad for 32 years.
Marvin was a collector and enjoyed going to car shows and showing his 1962 Ford Thunderbird. He enjoyed tinkering and watching the traffic go by his home.
Marvin loved his flower gardens, and it never failed when anyone came over and he’d have his coffee in hand. He never hesitated to help his neighbors, and his family was larger than just people who share his blood.
Marvin is survived by:
Children – Tammy (Dan) Reeder of Greenup, Illinois; Marvin (Jennifer) Oakley, Jr of Greenup, Illinois; Mackenzie Henning (Will Kilmer) of Toledo, Illinois; and Haley (Sam) Gross of Mattoon, Illinois

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sabrina Oakley, brothers Alvin Oakley, Calvin Oakley, Charles Oakley, and Millard Kingery, sisters Monalee Keil, Naomi Hampton, Opal Oakley, Wealthy Hanley, Ethel Zikes Gaston and Ruth White.
