Effingham County has been issued a tentative property assessment equalization factor of 1.0000.

The equalization factor, also known as the “multiplier”, is the method used to achieve uniform property assessments among counties, as required by law. Community college districts and local school districts utilize the multiplier since their districts overlap county boundaries involving different tax rates.

Assessments in Effingham County are at 33.14% of market value, based on sales of properties in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The equalization factor is for 2024 taxes, payable in 2025.

Last year’s equalization factor in Effingham County was also 1.0000.
