Representatives of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) shared about the organization with the Effingham Noon Rotary Club on April 9.
CASA represents the interests of children in court cases, children who are inadvertently caught up in someone else’s problems. Libby Moeller heads the CASA efforts in this area and shared with Rotarians how CASA advocates help and the need for additional advocates. Zoe Bridges, who is also working with CASA, shared the numbers on how the organization has helped through the years.
The Rotary weekly student guest was Jessica Larsen, daughter of Jason and Robyn Larsen and a senior at Effingham High School. Jessica is a valedictorian at EHS and has participated in 4-H, band, and has been a frequent state meet competitor in Cross Country and Track. She is headed to Lake Land College this fall to study Nursing and to run Cross Country.
