The Effingham Athletic Department runs an Athlete of the Month program each month. Athletes are nominated by head coaches and then voted on by all coaches. Winners receive recognition and a Treign Athlete of the Month shirt. Nomination criteria is as follows:
Stats, Accomplishments, Character, Coachability, Leadership and Sportsmanship
Arabella Barnhart – JH Volleyball (7th Grade)
Arabella is a hard working, aggressive, and positive athlete. She wants to do every skill well and listens to try to improve. She is leading the team in digs. I moved her to libero because of an injury and she picked up the change in one practice. Her hard working, great attitude is a big reason our team was successful. — Coach Laurie Bohnhoff
Anthony Bohnhoff – JH Scholar Bowl (8th Grade)
Anthony is one of our leading scorers. He leads and helps others with math problems and tries to explain how he gets to the answer if teammates ask him. He is always willing to help carry equipment and is a good captain for the team. — Coach Stacey Walk
