A vacancy currently exists on the Altamont City Council for the office of Commissioner.
Pursuant to the Altamont Municipal Code and Illinois State Statute, the City Council fills a vacancy by appointment. The Altamont Council is seeking interested persons to submit a statement of interest for appointment to fill the position of City Commissioner-Parks & Cemetery for the current term of office, expiring April 30, 2027.
APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 5 pm April 25 TH .
To be considered for the position:
Applicants must be a qualified elector under state law;
Have primary residence within the City;
Have resided within the City for at least 1 year; and
Submit a short autobiography with a statement indicating why applicant is interested in serving on the Council.
Statements of Interest will be accepted at the City Clerk’s Office Monday – Friday or by mail to 202 North Second Street, Altamont, IL 62411
