ALTAMONT — Altamont High School’s Keegan Schultz threw a one-hitter as the Indians blanked Cumberland, 8-0 in baseball competition Wednesday.
Schultz did not give up a walk and struck out 10 in keeping the Pirates off the bases.
Meanwhile, Altamont had seven hits led by Kade Milleville with two doubles, Cooper McManaway with a single, double and two RBI, Zaine Miller a single and two RBI and Brayden Schnarre a single and an RBI. Will Reardon chipped in with an RBI.
Altamont stepped out to a 3-0 opening inning lead then had a five-run sixth.
Cumberland had one hit, a single by Kade McMechan.

At Neoga
Neoga and Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran both scored a single run in the first inning Thursday.
The two teams then went scoreless through four innings before Neoga broke free, scoring six runs in the sixth.
Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran outhit Neoga by an 8-5 count but finished with four errors.
Carter Young hit a home run and had four RBI while Matt Propst finished with a double. Colin Blazich and Malik Coy added an RBI each.
Blazich threw a seven-hitter, giving up three runs, three walks while striking out four as the winner on the mound.
Neoga improved to 11-3 on the season and returns to action today at Cumberland.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ended this game in the fifth via the 10-run rule by an 11-1 tally over Okaw Valley Wednesday.
The Bobcats had 10 hits. Wyatt Rueff had two singles, a double and an RBI while AJ Radloff added two singles and three RBI. Ben Askins had a single, double and four RBI and Blake Mueller had a single and double.
Clive Schlanser picked up the victory on the mound, allowing one hit.

At Marion
Marion edged out to a 3-0 opening inning lead. Effingham St. Anthony came back with a run in the second and took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth.
That’s where it stood until the bottom of the sixth when Marion tied the score at 4-4. The two teams went three more innings before Marion brought home a run in the bottom of the ninth for a 5-4 victory.
Both teams had 10 hits. St. Anthony was led by Aiden Lauritzen with a single, home run and three RBI, Henry Brent with two singles and a double and Xander Beals with a single and an RBI.
Marion was led by Chase Niemeyer with a single, two doubles and an RBI, Braden Walsh with a single, double and two RBI, Braden Lange with two singles and an RBI and Will True with a single and double.
In a junior varsity contest, St. Anthony was an 11-3 winner over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at Evergreen Hollow Park.
The Bulldogs ran out to a 5-0 opening inning lead and never looked back.
St. Anthony had nine hits led by Freddie Jansen with two doubles and two RBI and Jonny Gannaway with a single, double and two RBI. Eric Utz contributed two singles and an RBI and Will Vonderheide a single and two RBI. Mason Storm added a single and an RBI.
Hayden Bushur picked up the pitching win. He came on in relief in the fourth inning and went four, giving up three runs on two hits, two walks and striking out seven.
