Elizabeth L. “Betty” King, age 86, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:30 AM – Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Reflections Memory Care in Savoy, Illinois.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Father Pawel Luczak, celebrating mass. The burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM before the mass in church. Elizabeth L. “Betty” was born on October 5, 1938, in Newton, Illinois, the daughter of F. Harold and Melba Rose (Kaufmann) Graham. She married Donald Davis “Don” King on September 4, 1960, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2021. Betty graduated from Newton Community High School with the class of 1956. She was an officer at People’s State Bank and retired after many years of service. Betty was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois.
Betty is survived by: Sister-in-law – Mary Ann Graham; Nephews – Dr. Eric (Nicole) Graham and Chad (Meredith) Graham; Nieces – Linda Huth and Carol Hunsaker.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Donald Graham, brothers-in-law John David King and Robert Davis King, and her father and mother-in-law Will and Mabel King
