DJ Daniel was sworn in as a member of some 200 police departments during a ceremony Tuesday.
DJ is a 13-year-old who has gained fame as he battles brain cancer while pursuing his dream of joining as many departments as possible. His effort gained extra momentum when President Donald Trump introduced him during a speech to Congress in March.
DJ visited the St. Louis area Tuesday to meet with officers for the swearing-in ceremony, including Effingham Police Chief Jason McFarland and Deputy Chief Kurt Davis.
McFarland said DJ is now a member of more than 1,000 police departments.
