Waltonville scored four runs and that was enough as the Spartans blanked Effingham St. Anthony by a 4-0 count in high school baseball Monday.
The Spartans edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning then added on three more runs in the fourth.
Brandon Menser tossed a one-hitter, struck out 12 and did not give up a walk. Brian Mann came in to finish out the final inning, allowing one walk and striking out one.
Meanwhile the Spartans had only four hits led by Alex Emery with two singles and Menser with a single and an RBI. Reed Robinson added two RBI while Witten Devor had an RBI.
The lone hit off of St. Anthony bats was a double by Alex Mayer.
St. Anthony pitchers gave up seven walks while striking out 11. The Bulldogs also finished with four errors.

At Windsor
Dieterich took the early lead but Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg came on in the sixth inning to tally all the runs it would need in a 5-4 victory Monday.
The Movin’ Maroons led 1-0 in the fourth and 3-0 in the fifth. They held a 4-0 lead in the top of the sixth only to see that go by the wayside.
It was the Verdeyen show offensively as. Carter Verdeyen had a double and two RBI and Blayzz Verdeyen a double and one RBI. Derk Friese added a single and two RBI.
B. Verdeyen picked up the win on the mound. He went four innings allowing one run on five hits, four walks while striking out seven. C. Verdeyen came on in relief and went the final three innings, giving up three runs on two hits, five walks and striking out four.
Dieterich was led by Gavin Meinhart with a solo home run, Dom Ashley with a single and double, Bryce Bohnhoff and Jackson Icenogle with a single and an RBI each and Carson Baxter with an RBI.

This contest went scoreless through five innings before Altamont broke free with seven runs in the sixth and tacked on a final run in the seventh to blank Neoga, 8-0.
Altamont finished with seven hits led by Dyson Wagner with a double and three RBI, Brayden Elam with two singles and an RBI, Kade Milleville with two singles, Cooper McManaway and Zaine Miller with a single and an RBI each and Keegan Schultz and Brayden Schnarre with an RBI each.
Neoga had two hits, singles by Cayden Hakman and Malik Coy. Neoga dropped to 9-3 on the season and returns to action today at Okaw Valley.
K. Milleville went all seven innings on the mound. He struck out 16 and gave up no runs on two hits and no walks.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ran out to an 11-0 opening inning lead and that was the game as the Bobcats won over Ramsey, 16-1 in five innings Monday.
CHBC scored four more in the third and finished with one in the fifth.
The Bobcats had 13 hits led by AJ Radloff with a single, double and three RBI, Hunter Pope with a double and three RBI, Kyle Lamb with three singles and three RBI, Kaidyn Calame with a double and an RBI, Ben Askins with two singles and an RBI and Connor Vaughn and Wyatt Rueff with a single and an RBI each.
Casey Macklin won on the mound giving up only one hit.

South Central put together 18 hits and ended this game over Odin/Patoka/Sandoval in the fourth inning by a 17-2 count Monday.
The Cougars ‘s Chase Guerrettaz threw a two-hitter with two walks and four strikeouts.
Meanwhile the Cougars had nine players earning a hit in the contest. Guerrettaz led the way with two singles, a double and six RBI, Maddox Robb with three singles and two RBI, Zane Montes with three singles and an RBI, Colton Smith with three singles and an RBI, Callaway Smith with a single, double and two RBI and Hudson Moore with a double and an RBI. Evan Hoover added a single and two RBI and Trevan Sidwell a single and an RBI.
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval’ was led by A. Hoffman with a single and an RBI.

Newton edged out to a 2-0 lead on Richland County, Olney and went on for a 9-2 victory Monday.
The Eagles had nine hits to go with the nine runs. Gavin Meinhart had a single, two doubles and two RBI while Quincy Fulton had a single, home run and one RBI, Drake Wolf with a single and three RBI, David Ferguson with a single and an RBI and Dexter Fulton with an RBI.
Carson Barthelme went all seven innings on the mound. He gave up two runs on five hits, two walks while striking out three.
