Marsha L. Toland, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth, Indiana.
Born on November 25, 1953, in Marshall County, Indiana, Marsha was the cherished daughter of William Thomas and Ruby Fae (Williams) Stockton. Her life was a testament to the love and joy she brought to those around her. Marsha’s journey began alongside her adoring parents and siblings in the heart of Indiana. She blossomed into a kind and spirited woman, known for her warmth and generosity. On April 27, 1979, she married the love of her life, William Jerome “Jerry” Toland, in Jasper County, Illinois. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and cherished moments, celebrating 41 years of marriage before Jerry’s passing in 2021. Their union was a beacon of devotion and partnership.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Billie Toland; her granddaughter, Kelsey Toland, who brought immense joy and pride to her life; her brother, Richard Stockton; her nephew, Connor Stockton, all of Shelbyville, Illinois; and her niece, Tammy (Justin) Jordan of South Bend, Indiana, along with many cousins. Marsha’s presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family.
Marsha’s life was marked by the loss of her beloved son, William Thomas Toland, and she was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Jerry” Toland; her sisters, Patsy Stockton and Christine Swinson; and her brother, Glenn “Alan” Borders.
Marsha’s interests painted a picture of a woman who cherished the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid crocheter, often gifting her family and friends with the beautiful creations of her hands. Additionally, Marsha found solace and entertainment in watching old western movies.
