Lee Spencer Rush, 87, of Fort Morgan, CO died Wednesday, September 25th, 2024.

He was born May 2nd, 1937, in Edgewood, IL to DL and Hazel Rush. Lee grew up in two small towns in southern Illinois, attended Eastern Illinois State College, and served four years in the Air Force, stationed in Colorado and Long Island, NY, where he met Alice Pickering. Lee and Alice married on December 24th 1958 and moved to Denver where Lee became employed by Martin Co. for six years as an Electronic Tech. In 1967 he took a job with the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District, where he worked as a plant operator for 32 years. Lee retired in 1999, and he and Alice moved to Fort Morgan. Lee had many hobbies, but his greatest joy came from traveling extensively across the lower 48 states, Alaska and Western Canada with Alice and their children. In 1985, Lee and Alice made a trip to the Holy Land. Lee was active in church, serving as a Deacon and an Elder. He taught classes for children and adults alike, but he especially enjoyed preparing the lessons and teaching the men’s Bible study. Lee’s most treasured memories were the 53 1⁄2 years of marriage he shared with Alice before her failing health caused her death at the age of 74.

Survivors include his son Dennis Rush and wife Michelle of Denver, CO; daughter, Lynda Kump and husband Robert of Butte, MT; his grandchildren Cory (Becky), Kyle and Nicole (Michael); his great granddaughters, Harper and Kennedy; his sister-in-law Claudine Rush and his cherished friend Olga Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alice; his parents; and brothers, Harold (Betty) and Kenneth.

Internment of ashes will be on April 26th at 11:00 AM at the Edgewood Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion in Edgewood, IL.
