Effingham County Clerk Michelle Kollmann has finalized their numbers for write-in votes.
The totals include all of the ballots cast through Election Night Tuesday. Kollmann said they might have more as more vote mail-in ballots, so numbers could change slightly. Those ballots will not be processed until after April 15.
The write-in votes for Effingham Unit 40 school board are as follows:
Desha Wear–four-year term–103
Erica Boone–four-year term–106
Chad Thompson–unexpired two-year term–144
The write-in votes for Village of Shumway trustee are as follows:
Richard Milanic–four-year term–6
Joe Kemme–four-year term–27
Brian Sandschafer–four-year term–21
Steve Sutter–two-year unexpired term–24
Kollmann also reported that 1,244 vote-by-mail ballots were mailed out. As of Tuesday, 468 of those ballots have been returned and counted. That leaves 776 ballots still out. Those vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked the day of the election for them to be counted.
