 Two Cars Collided in Watson, One Driver Taken to Hospital

Two cars collided at an intersection in Watson on Wednesday afternoon, injuring two people.

The crash happened at 1:50pm on Illinois Route 37, just east of Eastwood Street.

According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by 83-year-old Patricia Miller of Watson was stopped in traffic, waiting to turn left off the highway. 22-year-old Cheyenne Sarver of Effingham was traveling west on Route 37 and failed to reduce speed, rear-ending the Miller vehicle.

Sarver was injured and was transported to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Miller refused treatment.
