A Murphysboro man was arrested by Effingham County sheriff’s deputies on weapons charges.
26-year-old Trevor M. Evans was arrested on two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and a charge of unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon.
Effingham County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies answered a call for service to the Fairview Inn in Montrose just after midnight Thursday morning. While at the call, deputies developed information that the guns and ammunition were present in the motel room.
