 Former Local Resident Gets Prison Term

A Salem resident with ties to our area has been sentenced to prison for drugs.

39-year-old Aven L. Snyder is a former Effingham resident, and was sentenced in Effingham County Circuit Court to three years in prison. Snyder was sentenced for possession of methamphetamine. The charge stemmed from an arrest in June of 2023.

Snyder will serve six months of mandatory supervised release once out of prison.
