Effingham Noon Rotarians learned more about plans to renovate Village Square Mall and establish The Square Southtown at their meeting December 11.

Scott Kabbes and Karen Etter, two of the three proponents of the project along with Michael Brummer, discussed their plans if a lawsuit filed by the former mall owner can be resolved.

Pickleball courts, both indoor and outdoor, will be a big part of the development along commercial properties and beautification of the property.

Norma Lansing served as Rotary weekly program chair.
