 Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Regionals — Jan. 27

Teutopolis advanced in its own Class 7-3A boys basketball regional Monday evening.

 

The Wooden Shoes defeated Cumberland, 50-19.

T-town held a 15-2 opening quarter lead and never looked back. The Shoes were led in scoring by Meyer with 15 and Giles with 11.

Cumberland was led by Miles with seven.

In the opening game of the evening, Robinson Nuttall downed Lawrenceville Parkview, 46-28.

T-town will now meet Robinson Nuttall at 6 p.m. Thursday for the regional championship.

Class 8-3A Teutopolis Regional

Class 7-1A Mulberry Grove Regional

Altamont Lutheran will play for the championship of the Mulberry Grove Regional after winning Monday evening.

Atalmont Lutheran downed Pana Sacred Heart, 30-24.

In the opener, East St. Louis Younge won over Ramsey, 51-25.

Altamont Lutheran, seeded third, will now take on top-seeded East St. Louis Younge at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the regional championship.

 

Class 7-4A Taylorville Regional

Rochester came out the champion of the Class 7-4A Taylorville Regional Monday evening.

Rochester, seeded second, beat fourth seeded Stephen Decatur, 39-29.

Rochester advances to its own sectional Monday, Feb. 3 to meet either Springfield Lutheran or Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. Those two teams play tonight for the championship of the Quincy Regional.

 

Tonight’s games:

In the Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional, St. Michael will meet Findlay Okaw Valley at 6 p.m. followed by Effingham Sacred Heart against Mattoon St. John’s at 7:15. The winners advance to the championship game Wednesday.

In the Class 7-2A Hutsonville Regional, Stewardson-Strasburg takes on Hutsonville at 6 p.m. followed by Casey-Westfield against Paris Crestwood at 7:15 p.m. The winners will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. for the championship.

In the Class 7-2A Effingham St. Anthony Regional, the Bullpups will meet South Central at 5 p.m. followed by St. Elmo/Brownstown against Assumption Central A&M at 6:15. The winners meet for the championship Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
