Effingham St. Anthony claimed a 69-49 victory over Mattoon in freshman/sophomore boys basketball action Saturday.
The Bulldogs edged out to an 18-17 opening quarter lead as Jonny Gannaway scored eight points.
Conner Storm took over the scoring duties in the second quarter with 17 of his team’s 25 points. He added on eight more in the third quarter and Jameson McAllister scored seven.
The Bulldogs held a 43-29 halftime lead.
Storm finished with 30 points on 14 field goals, one a three-pointerr. Gannaway added 15 on five field goals and five free throws.
