 Effingham Freshman Fall To Salem

Effingham played host to Salem in freshman boys basketball action Thursday and fell to the Wildcats, 46-40.

The Hearts stepped out to a 15-11 opening quarter lead and led 28-21 at halftime. Gage Kinder scored eight of the team’s 14 opening quarter points. Jack Hartman tallied six in the second quarter.

EHS still led after the third quarter by a 38-29 count as Max Love knocked in three baskets.

But the Wildcats came roaring back with a 17-2 final period to pull out the six point victory.

EHS was led by Kinder with 12 points on five field goals, two from three-point range.
