 Neoga Boys, Girls Drop Losses At Monticello Tourneys

MONTICELLO — Neoga High School fell in borh boys and girls basketball action at the Monticello Holiday Hoopla Thursday evening.

In girls play, Clinton claimed a 59-53 win over Neoga.

Clinton took an 18-10 opening quarter lead. Neoga came back with a 13-8 second period to pull within 26-23 at halftime.

Both teams scored 15 points in the third quarter before Clinton had an 18-15 final period.

Brynn Richards led Neoga with 32 points on 13 field goals and four of five at the line. Richards connected on two three-pointers.

In other games, Monticello beat Ridgeview 40-18, Tuscola tallied a 74-70 win over Tuscola, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley handily beat Paxton-Buckley-Loda, 64-18, Tri-Valley downed Monticello 56-44 and Tuscola won over Ridgeview 78-64.

The Indians drop to 6-7 on the season and will face Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley today at 10 a.m. and will meet Paxton-Buckley-Loda at 7:30 p.m.

In the boys contest, Clinton downed Neoga, 74-36. Clinton ran off to a 23-12 opening quarter ead and led 38-20 at halftime. Clinton then had a 28-6 third quarter.

Neoga was led by Luke Keller with 12 points on four field goals, one a three-pointer and three of four at the line.

Landon Titus led in rebounds with seven and assists with two.

In other games, Tuscola pounded Oakwood 96-37, Monticello downed Ridgeview 78-52, Paxton-Buckley-Loda won over Gibson City/Melvin/Sibley 54-44, Tuscola beat Ridgeview 78-64 and Monticello defeated Oakwood 64-52.

Neoga will face Gibson City/Melvin-Sibley today at 11:30 a.m. followed by a game at 6 p.m. against Paxton-Buckley-Loda.
