St. A, Stew-Stras Playing For Sectional Titles Tonight

Effingham St. Anthony and Stewardson-Strasburg will be playing for sectional volleyball championships tonight.

Class 2A Newton Sectional

Effingham St. Anthony will be playing for the sectional championship by taking on Carlinville in the 2A Newton Sectional at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the McLeansboro Super-Sectional Saturday at 6 p.m. against either Waterloo Gibault Catholic or Edwards County (Albion).

The winner of the super-sectional will advance to state tournament play Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16 at Redbird Arena in Normal.

Class 1A Arcola Sectional

Stewardson-Strasburg will be playing for the sectional championship taking on Arthur-Lovington at 7 p.m. tonight. The winner advances to the Nokomis Super-Sectional Saturday at 7 p.m. against either Liberty or Hardin Calhoun.

Class 1A Lebanon Sectional

Cisne, coached by Altamont native Jonathon Smith, will be playing for the sectional championship against Lebanon at 6 p.m. tonight. The winner advances to the Marissa Super-Sectional at 1 p.m. against either New Athens or Marion Crab Orchard.

Winners of the 1A super-sectional will advance to state tournament play Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, November. 16 at Redbird Arena in Normal. The Nokomis and Carterville Super-Sectional winners face off at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 15.
