BSN Crossroads Classic Volleyball Tourney Opens Play Friday

The Effingham High School BSN Crossroads Classic Volleyball Tournament will get underway Friday evening at six gymnasiums in Effingham High School, Sacred Heart School and Effingham Junior High School.

Champaign Centennial won last year's overall championship in the Gold Flight. Winning the Silver Flight was Paducah Lone Oak. Effingham finished eighth in the Silver Flight. Oakland Tri-County captured the Bronze Flight. Cumberland finished sixth and Stewardson-Strsaburg was seventh in the Bronze Flight.

This year's tourney includes Effingham, Cumberland, Stewardson-Strasburg, Wheaton St. Francis, Hermann, Walter Payton, Indianapolis Chatard, Naperville Central, Mattoon, Glenbard West, Normal University, Owensboro Catholic, Bloomington, St. Louis Ursuline, Whitney Young, Lexington Henry Clay, Illiana Christian, Breese Central, Champaign Centennial, Edwardsville, Paducah McCracken, Kansas Ti-County, North Oldham and Belleville Althoff.

Pool play will be held Friday evening with matches beginning at 6 and held at 7, 8:10 and 9:15 p.m. Saturday play will be determined by the order of finish in Friday evening pool play. Saturday matches start at 9 a.m.

Gold Flight, Bronze Flight and Silver Flight play Saturday, September 14 will be determined by order of finish in Friday evening pool play. Saturday matches begin at 9 a.m. All teams will play three matches Saturday and will have their first match at either 9 or 10:10.

The Gold Flight championship will be held at 4:15 p.m. with the third place and fifth place contests at 3 p.m. and the seventh place match at 1:45 p.m.

The Silver Flight championship will be held at 3 p.m. with the third, fifth and seventh place matches at 1:45 p.m.

The Bronze Flight championship will be held at 3 p.m. along with the fifth place match. The third and seventh place matches will be held at 1:45 p.m.
