Altamont Wins Twice at Roxana Volleyball Tourney

Altamont came out of pool play Monday with a 2-0 record at the Roxana Shells Volleyball Tournament.

Altamont defeated Gillespie 25-8, 25-12 in the opener then took the second match over East Alton/Wood River 25-20, 25-16.

In other matches, Roxana defeated Marquette 2-0, Marquette won over Dupo 2-0, Roxana defeated Dupo 2-1 and EAWR downed Gillespie 2-0. Altamont was 2-0 in Pool B while Roxana was 2-0 in Pool A.

Action continues today with play in Pool C and Pool D. Altamont and Roxana will square off Saturday at 1 p.m. in semmifinal round action while Marquette will meet EAWR at 9 a.m.
