North Clay Third At Class 7-2A State Volleyball

BRIMFIELD -- North Clay captured third place at the Class 7-2A State Volleyball Tournament during the weekend.

In the opening match for North Clay, the squad won over Seneca, 25-19, 25-18. 

Keya Coble led in service points with 11 and aces with five.

That advanced North Clay to the semifinals where the squad met Morrisonville and lost, 25-18, 27-25.

Clara Carroll led in service points with nine and Emma Smith had seven. Smith, Carroll, Janelle Jordan and Kayla McGuire had one ace each.

That dropped North Clay into the third place contest where the team claimed a 25-16, 25-20 win over SpringfIeld Christian.

Coble led in service points with 10 and had two aces. Smith also had two aces.

Carroll won the Sportsmanship Award for the State Tournament.

North Clay finished third in the state with a 25-1 record.
