NEOGA -- North Clay (Louisville) came out the champion at the Seventh-Grade National Trail Conference Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

Scores in opening round play Saturday were South Central over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 25-19, 25-10, North Clay over Effingham Sacred Heart, 25-4, 25-17, Stewardson-Strasburg over Altamont, 25-17, 22-25, 15-12 and Sigel St. Michael over Neoga, 19-25, 29-27, 15-8.

South Central beat Stew-Stras to move into the championship, 25-27, 25-7, 15-2 while North Clay downed Sigel St. Michael 25-19, 25-15 to also move into the title contest. In the championship match, North Clay won over South Central, 25-21, 25-21.

Third place went to St. Michael over Stewardson-Strasburg, 25-16, 25-22.

In consolation play, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City defeated Altamont, 25-14, 25-23 and Neoga won over Sacred Heart, 25-20, 25-16.

In the consolation championship, CHBC downed Neoga, 25-16, 29-27.

 

At Teutopolis

Effingham St. Anthony and Teutopolis each picked up a victory in Friday competition.

The Bullpups won the sevneth-grade match, 25-17, 25-22.

T-town dropped to 7-7 on the season.

In the eighth-grade contest, the Wooden Shoes won 25-16, 25-20 to improve to 11-3 on the season.

North Clay (Louisville) defeated Patoka Friday.

Nort hCLay won the sevneth-garde match, 25-12, 25-15.

In eighth-garde play, Nort hClay won 25-15, 25-9.
